Adeva Health · Last updated 6 September 2026 · Questions: [email protected]

These terms govern a laboratory’s use of Adeva, the laboratory information system operated by Adeva Health. By creating a lab, or by using an account a lab has given you, you agree to them. Version 2026-09-06.

1. Who this is between

This agreement is between Adeva Health (“we”, “us”) and the laboratory or diagnostic organisation that creates or holds an Adeva account (“the Laboratory”, “you”). The person who creates the lab confirms that they are authorised to accept these terms on the Laboratory’s behalf.

Staff members the Laboratory invites use Adeva under the Laboratory’s account and on the Laboratory’s behalf. They are bound by these terms through the Laboratory; the Laboratory is responsible for their use.

2. The service

Adeva is a hosted laboratory information system with two surfaces: the Console, for owners and administrators to configure the laboratory, its branches, catalogue, prices, staff and reports; and the LIS, for staff to register patients, raise requests, collect and assess specimens, enter, validate and deliver results, and manage stock.

Adeva records and reports what the Laboratory’s staff enter. It does not perform, interpret or validate laboratory examinations. Clinical decisions, reference ranges, critical limits, methods, report wording and the release of every result remain the Laboratory’s professional responsibility under its own licence and accreditation.

We may improve or change features. We will not remove a capability the Laboratory relies on without notice.

3. Accounts and access

  • Each person uses their own account. Sharing credentials is not permitted.
  • The Laboratory decides who holds which role, which permissions, and which branches each person may work at. Those settings are the Laboratory’s access-control decisions; we enforce them as configured.
  • The Laboratory must remove access promptly when someone leaves or changes role. Deactivation takes effect on that person’s next request.
  • Tell us at [email protected] without delay if you suspect an account has been compromised.

4. The Laboratory’s responsibilities

  • Hold and maintain the licences and registrations required to operate a medical laboratory where you operate.
  • Obtain any patient consent or authority the law requires before entering a person’s details or results, and record it in Adeva where the product provides for it.
  • Enter accurate information, and keep the catalogue, reference ranges and critical limits current.
  • Verify results before release. A report is the Laboratory’s document, issued under its name and licence.
  • Keep your own copies of anything you are legally required to retain beyond your use of Adeva.

5. Your data and patient data

Everything the Laboratory and its staff enter — patients, requests, specimens, results, prices, stock, audit records — is the Laboratory’s data. The Laboratory is the data controller for patient data; we process it only on the Laboratory’s instructions as a data processor, on the terms of the Data Processing Agreement, which forms part of this agreement.

Each Laboratory’s data is isolated from every other Laboratory’s at the database level. Our staff do not read a Laboratory’s records except under a time-limited support-access grant the Laboratory’s administrator approves, every use of which is written to the Laboratory’s audit trail. See Security.

The Laboratory can export its data at any time from the Console and the LIS. On termination we make the data available for export for the period in section 11, then delete it.

6. Trial, fees and suspension

A new lab starts on a free trial of the length shown at signup. We tell you before the trial ends. Continued use after the trial is on the plan and price published at /pricing or agreed in writing.

If fees go unpaid, or the trial ends without a plan, the Laboratory’s account is suspended: sign-in is refused and an explanation shown, but the data is kept. Service resumes on payment. We give notice before any suspension.

7. Acceptable use

You must not use Adeva to:

  • enter data you have no right to hold, or process data for purposes outside the Laboratory’s own operations;
  • attempt to reach another Laboratory’s data, another branch you are not assigned to, or any system component beyond your role;
  • probe, scan, load-test or reverse-engineer the service without our written agreement;
  • send bulk or unsolicited messages through result-delivery features;
  • resell or provide the service to third parties as a bureau, without an agreement that says so.

8. Availability and support

We aim to keep Adeva available at all times and to publish maintenance in advance. We do not promise uninterrupted operation. The Laboratory should keep a manual fallback for critical values and urgent results, as good laboratory practice requires regardless of software.

Support is by email at [email protected]. Response targets, if any, are set out in the plan.

9. Ownership

We own Adeva — its software, design, documentation and trademarks. The Laboratory owns its data (section 5) and its own branding, which we display on its reports and screens only as the Laboratory configures.

Suggestions you give us about the product may be used freely by us, without obligation, and without identifying you.

10. Liability

To the extent the law allows: we are not liable for clinical outcomes, for the content of results or reports, or for decisions made on them; for loss of profit or indirect loss; or for loss caused by the Laboratory’s own configuration, its staff’s entries, or its failure to keep required copies. Our total liability under this agreement in any twelve-month period is limited to the fees the Laboratory paid us in that period.

Nothing limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for fraud or for death or personal injury caused by negligence.

11. Ending the agreement

  • The Laboratory may stop using Adeva at any time by telling us in writing.
  • We may end the agreement on thirty days’ notice, or immediately if the Laboratory materially breaches it and does not remedy the breach within fourteen days of being told.
  • After termination the Laboratory’s data stays available for export for ninety days, after which it is scheduled for deletion and permanently removed, including from backups within the backup retention cycle. We will confirm deletion on request.

12. General

  • This agreement, the Data Processing Agreement and the Privacy Notice are the whole agreement between us for the service.
  • We may update these terms. Material changes are notified to the Laboratory’s administrators at least thirty days before they take effect; continued use after that date is acceptance.
  • This agreement is governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, and the courts of Nigeria have jurisdiction.
  • Notices to us go to [email protected]; notices to the Laboratory go to the administrators’ email addresses on the account.
Counsel to confirm: the registered legal name and RC number of Adeva Health, the liability cap, the notice periods, and the retention window in section 11 against the Laboratory’s regulatory retention duties.
